About the role
SAMA are looking for a talented, creative, and professional individual to join the team at Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMA) to work on the delivery of 12th edition of the music awards!
The individual will play a key role in executing the marketing & social media plan throughout the project and also feed into the wider SAMA projects and plans. The candidate will be savvy with online platforms and confident to take lead.
Key responsibilities
Strong knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram)
Strong knowledge of Square Space blogging
Experience with Facebook advertising
Working closely with SAMA partners to deliver key messages
Input to creative ideas generation across all brands and for new events / projects.
Essential
Degree in Marketing (or relevant) or proven experience in a Digital Marketing or Social Media role
Interest & understanding of the Scottish music scene
Proven track record in running digital channels
Excellent organisational skills, the ability to work efficiently under pressure and multi-task to meet deadlines
Experience within Microsoft Word, & G-Suite/Emailing
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality and consistency
Experience within social media video editing, TikTok and Canva are desirable
The candidate will report and work directly with project manager remotely.
Start date: late September.

The Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMA) recognise the best new Scottish music, annually shining a spotlight on an eclectic range of artists. SAMA host a range of events including HANG - Scotland’s hip hop & grime conference, plus showcases at Liverpool Sound City and their own two-day music festival SAMA Paisley Takeover.

The 2021 campaign will celebrate genres such as Electronic, Metal, Hip Hop, Rock/Alternative & more, with the main event taking place in November in Glasgow.
Fee
Working hours: Part Time (2 days per week in Oct, 2.5 days per week in Nov). This role is freelance and split over 8 weeks. Meetings will take place via Zoom and in person when possible in Glasgow.
Fee: £2,000.00 (Approx £250.00 p/week)
It is also possible the role will be extended to support other SAMA projects across 2021/22.
