SAMAs 5 must-see acts at Electric Fields

There's plenty to see this weekend in Dumfries & Galloway

ELECTRIC Fields is now just a few days away, and with so much on offer, we here at the SAMAs have put together 5 of our MUST-SEE acts at one of Scotland’s hottest music festivals.

THE NINTH WAVE

Winners of the Electric Fields unsigned band competition, The Ninth Wave, will play The Stewart Cruickshank Stage on Saturday.

The 'Only The Young' band have been making waves in the Glasgow scene.

The self-declared 'goth-pop' four-piece from Glasgow will bring their brash, rocky, sometimes electro sound to the borders. Don't miss it!

C DUNCAN

SAMA nominee for Best Acoustic and shortlisted for The Mercury Prize, C Duncan had a stellar 2015. Expect tracks from 'The Architect' and some from his forthcoming record 'The Midnight Sun'.

C Duncan's new album is due for 7th October.

Head to The Main Stage on Saturday to hear his extraordinarily dreamy and contemporary acoustic sounds.

TEENCANTEEN

Harmonic all-girl pop outfit TeenCanteen will provide delightful sing and dance-a-long tunes at Electric Fields this weekend.

Available to buy from: https://teencanteen.bandcamp.com/ 20p of each digital sale goes to Scottish Women's Aid http://www.scottishwomensaid.org.uk/ Performed by TeenCanteen. Written by Carla J. Easton. Produced and mixed by Stephen Watkins. Assisted by Greg Macaulay & Callum Main. Recorded at TAPE Studio, Edinburgh. Mastered by Steven Ward. Video - Carla J.

Catch them on The Tim Peaks Stage on Saturday for the perfect festival pick-me-up!

ONR.

Hometown heroes Onr. are Dumfries' finest and will be looking to put on a show on The Stewart Cruickshank Stage on Saturday.

Onr. are the mysterious incarnation of Finding Albert.

Onr. are the new project of Finding Albert and by all counts smashed it at their festival debut at Belladrum. Electric Fields promises to be no different!

PRIMAL SCREAM

Last but certainly not least, and sitting at the top of the bill, are Scottish music legends Primal Scream.

With anthems such as ‘Country Girl’ and ‘Movin’ On Up’, you simply cannot miss what will undoubtedly be an absolute party. Bobby Gillespie and co take to the Main Stage on Saturday night - see you down the front.

There are so many great emerging and establshed acts playing Electric Fields this weekend that we just couldn’t write about them all.

If you are heading down make sure you sing, dance and most importantly, stay safe.  Enjoy!
