Fright Years - Warning Signs
Coming as the second single of 2022, Edinburgh-based Fright Years have graced us with the tender Warning Signs. Since their inception back in early 2021, the indie/dream-pop four piece have taken their songs from bedroom demos to the studio and have produced an encapsulating dreamscape of heady guitars. Warning Signs begins in earnest but is soon enveloped by distortion and a whirlwind of sonic bliss.
Ian Robert - I Need
Ditching the guitar after becoming obsessed with dance music, producer Ian Robert has followed his Dutch roots and taken his skills to the dance floor with his brand of EDM. Having had production credits of local legend Aiitee and Bemz, the huge sound of his style is exemplified in this latest single I Need. An unstoppable beat leads way to a catchy vocal sample and a satisfying bass line.
Lauren Glancy - Everyday
A slick fusion of R&B and Hip Hop, up and coming artist Lauren Glancy has released her sophomore single Everyday. A filtered bass grooves along under the drums, creating a 90s West Coast Rap vibe that is brimming with personality.
NOISE POCKET - fallingovermytoes
A caustic and chaotic swirl of noise and breakbeats from newcomer NOISE POCKET, fallingovermytoes is a twisted take on electronica and experimental genres. This is the debut single from the artist and can only be the beginning for the boundless sound on display here.
Shears - Carbon Copy
Electro-pop singer/producer Shears punches in with a stomping beat with new single Carbon Copy. Released in anticipation for her next fully self written and produced EP entitled Superhues. Glistening with sugary synths that fill the track with so much life, while the bass and drum machine lock in together to create a dance floor ready groove. Be sure to catch Shears at this years Resonate Conference in Glasgow in November.
Sherrps - Chapter One
Evolving from a deep personal trouble, the impactful Chapter One from Dundee rap artist Sherrps is a emotional journey of music and rapid flow. With the looped beat and piano keys falling with emotion each time they hit, Sherrps spins a yarn of childhood, death and working class life.
Terra Kin - Flames
The debut single Flames from burgeoning young artist Terra Kin is an astounding stroke of heartfelt acoustic pop. Burning slowly with the embers of a soul once set alight by something, or someone, Terra Kin bares all emotion backed only by the subtle instrumentation and angelic backing vocals.
Triple 01s - Ayo
Triple 01s are the hottest new drill act to emerge from the growing rap scenes across Scotland. Formed by Trigga and YSK, the duo have been releasing tracks since 2021. Triple 01s hit out with visceral rhymes on the latest single AYO, trading off bars between one another over the relentless beat and sampled instruments.
