Glasgow’s Catholic Action are streaming new song ‘Propaganda’, taken from their debut album In Memory Of. Due this Autumn via Modern Sky, In Memory Of is a vibrant collection of guitar-pop anthems, In Memory Of shines with pop-smarts, clever hooks and confidence rarely seen in a new act. Following a string of lauded singles, Catholic Action are streaming new single ‘Propaganda’. A breakneck paced slab of punked up art-rock, ‘Propaganda’ typifies Catholic Action’s penchant for penning instantly memorable pop nuggets, with a sardonic and knowing sense of self. A drunken epiphany on the dance floor, when you realise you’re very, very lost. The first track from Catholic Action's debut album 'In Memory Of', due for release later this year, is new single Propaganda. Fuelled with anthemic charm, distant crowd roars are almost instilled in its very core amid every drum beat. The four-piece present a nonchalant defiance of the everyday mundane, whilst still embracing the euphoria of a disorientated mind. Howling chorus lines compliment the glistening resonance of their statement guitar riffs, it’s hard not to be completely compelled by the teasings of this (less than) two-minute track. Despite their “newcomer” status to the local scene, Fauves are already creating a back catalogue of substantial hits, following on from recent their release Hit Like This, is a new single Afterglow. The track possesses a flirtatious flair achieved through heart-stopping drum beats and diversified breakdowns to back spirited vocal stylings. A track that wouldn’t seem out of place against the rolling credits of an 80’s blockbuster, Ava Love's Chophouse is a defiant yet buoyantly sleek anthem. Unrelenting and at points cutting, riffs masquerade an equally sharp vocal for a brilliantly grotesque, concise listen supported with a freeing use of lyricism. Dunfermline based five-piece Dancing On Tables return with new single Tracey to offer a youth tinged embrace with this charming indie track. In classic DoT style, we’re given three minutes worth of punchy, panoramic riffs and catchy harmonies. Sentimental melodies make for a light as air listen, perfect for these carefree summer months.
